BRINGING THE YOUTH OF THE BAY AREA OUTSIDE
We are a group of education professionals developing environmental programming for students of all ages in The Bay Area. Our activities are built around each teacher’s curriculum and are meant to give context to environmental studies.
Using wilderness as an extended classroom.
We offer programs for students K-12. We work with teachers to integrate our programs with existing lesson plans. One size does not fit all when it comes to our children’s education!
Meet our board
Jennie L. – Jennie started her career as a substitute teacher for middle schools in her hometown of San Diego, CA. While there she saw the disconnect between students learning about science and seeing it in action. That’s when she started making her own curriculum and found like-minded outdoor enthusiasts and teachers.
Rodrigo Sandoval. – Growing up in the lush Sierra foothills instilled a deep love for the outdoors that shaped him as a young adventurer and now guides his life mission of leading others to find peace and purpose in nature. Rodrigo’s background in outdoor recreation management ensures all our activities are safe for our kids and for the environment.
Andrew C. – Interested in hiking or camping? Andrew is a professional in this field. Andrew grew up in the Bay Area and loves the outdoors. He decided to share the outdoor experience and happiness with everyone, especially our future – children. He has a lot of professional skills to make sure our future is safe and learn something new in a fun way.
Elizabeth O.– Elizabeth majored in Child, Youth and Family studies at Portland State University. She works with Together Outside to help children appreciate the outdoors, as well as helping them understand Climate Change in a way that gets them excited to participate in preventing it. She believes the children are our future!
